They run funding meetings with the treasurer for those applying for OUDS loans. They select the roles for their standing committee at the beginning of their tenure, and then must delegate and manage the key tasks or new projects for the maintenance of the society activities.
Treasurer - Chess Nightingale - [email protected]
The Treasurer is responsible for managing OUDS loans and committee expenditure, as well as producing the OUDS National Tour.
Secretary - Lucas Angeli - [email protected]
The secretary is in charge of the organisation of the committee and the society. They send out a weekly newsletter, organise the location, agenda and minutes of the weekly meetings, and importantly re-register OUDS with the Proctors each year as a functioning society. They work closely with the standing committee and the UDO to ensure things are in motion and supported!

The Webmaster is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the Website. The Publicity Officer is responsible for managing OUDS’ online presence, including creating Instagram posts, marketing for OUDS Events, and managing OUDS Instagram Takeovers. The New Writing Rep is responsible for managing the new writing festival as well as leading writing workshops/other writing related activities.
Events and Social Reps - Marianne Nossair & Izzy Lever - [email protected]
The Events and Social Reps are in charge of organising the OUDS calendar. This involves negotiating with venues, talking to guests (or their agents), and ensuring that OUDS has a busy schedule of workshops, talks, classes, and social events.
Access and Outreach Officers - Issy Lyh & Eva Bailey - [email protected]
The Access and Outreach Officer (or officers) works to make the society as welcoming as possible to everybody who wants to be involved, regardless of their previous experience level. Not everyone will have had the opportunity to take part in drama before university, and not everyone in the society will have taken drama qualifications at school. The person/people in the Access and Outreach role should aim to ensure that nobody feels excluded by challenging a culture of assumed knowledge, and running events aimed at demystifying aspects of the society (e.g. how auditions work) and encouraging new members to join. Additionally, the Access and Outreach officer is responsible for promoting Oxford drama within the local community, by running a weekly drama club at Oxford Spires Academy, and coordinating with school and community groups to come and see shows wherever possible.
Racial Representation Officer - Hafeja Khanam - [email protected]
The Racial Representation Officer serves as the committee's point of contact for society members to report issues related to racial representation in productions. The officer works with production companies to actively encourage applications and auditions that platform non-white creatives, advocating for diversity and inclusion within the drama community. The officer is available to address concerns about racial identity in society events or productions. This includes providing guidance on fostering an inclusive audition process, addressing issues such as racial discrimination in plays, raising concerns about a lack of diversity, discussing challenges in casting, and supporting members in exploring how racial identity impacts their own productions or auditions. A core responsibility of the Racial Representation Officer is organizing the BAME Show, where an all-BAME (Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic) cast and crew collaborate on a performance to highlight the talents of individuals who are often underrepresented in both the Oxford acting community and the wider industry.
